ABOUT SBTI

SBTI — the test that turns
you into one of 27 characters

Instead of dense psychology jargon, SBTI shows your tendencies as one of 27 relatable characters. Answer 30 light questions and get your result in about three minutes — completely free.

What is SBTI?

SBTI stands for Satirical Behavioral Type Indicator. Rather than analyzing personality in a stiff, clinical way, it reinterprets everyday behavior patterns as 27 friendly characters — an entertainment-style personality test.

Someone who always takes charge is The Controller (CTRL); someone who looks after everyone but forgets themselves is The Mom (MUM). Results are designed to make you instantly think, "Oh, that's totally me."

SBTI is not an academic or medical diagnostic tool. Enjoy it as light content for understanding yourself and your friends a little more playfully.

The Five Personality Models

SBTI looks at your tendencies along five axes. The 30 questions each measure one of these models, and every model splits again into three sub-dimensions (15 in total).

ModelWhat it measures
SelfHow much you put yourself at the center and how you handle leadership
EmotionHow richly you feel and express your emotions
AttitudeWhether you face the world actively or cautiously
ActionHow fast you turn thoughts into action
SocialHow much energy you draw from being around others

Scoring each model as Low, Mid or High creates a unique 15-dimension profile, which is then matched to the closest of the 27 character types.

How is your result calculated?

  1. Your 30 answers are summed into 15-dimension scores (5 models × 3 dimensions).
  2. Each dimension is converted to Low (0), Mid (1) or High (2), forming your personal tendency vector.
  3. That vector is compared by distance to each of the 27 type patterns, and the closest one becomes your result.
  4. Compare a friend's type with yours and you also get a compatibility score (20–100%).

The same person can get slightly different results depending on the day's mood. Use it as a mirror for "you, right now" rather than a search for one correct answer.

Ways to use it

Why we made it

SBTI began from one thought: "personality test results are too serious and hard to read." We believed that if a result could make you laugh, understanding yourself and others would get a little lighter. So we put empathy and fun first — free, with no sign-up.

It runs on the web and on mobile apps (Android · iOS), and supports Korean, English, Japanese and Traditional Chinese. Send feedback anytime via the contact page.
